Like many of you, I imagine, my thoughts and prayers the past days have been consumed by the families of Connecticut. My heart aches for each individual loss and the overall trauma that extends from the situation. I will continue to pray for and remember all whose lives have been forever changed.
I found beauty and encouragement in this photo and the words of one of my childhood favorites, Mr. Rogers.
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother's words, and I am always comforted by realizing there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world."

Friends, don't wait for tragedy to show love.
There is opportunity around you each and every day.
I saw this photo on Facebook too. Mrs. Rogers must have been some woman, huh. This is going to be a hard week for those folks in Newtown who are burying their precious little ones.
