September - Monthly Project Announcement

I LOVE FALL! And September always means we are headed in that direction. It's also the time of year that our family participates in the Walk For Life to support our local crisis pregnancy center. This year's theme is "Embrace Destiny".
They always have the cutest promo-posters!  :)

My family and I will be gathering sponsors and walking Saturday, September 24.
Additionally, I have decided that my sewing efforts this month will go towards making Layette Sets for their "Stork's Nest" baby shop which provides free baby equipment, clothing, diapers and other necessities free of charge to expecting parents. They pay with "baby bucks" which they earn by attending parenting and support classes. The support the center provides really is amazing and we are both proud and blessed to play a part!

So, the Monthly Project for September is Layette.

I of course invite you to sew along! I will be posting free pattern links and tutorials throughout the month, as well as giveaways to make it even more fun!

If you want to sew but don't know of an immediate need for layette items in your area, then you are more than welcome to send your items to me and I will gladly add them to the donation we deliver at the end of the month. Also, let me offer a few suggestions of places that might appreciate and benefit from a donation of these type of items...
Crisis Pregnancy Centers
Domestic Violence Shelters
Single Mother Outreach Programs
Missionaries or those traveling for a mission trip or adoption
Church or Daycare Facilities
Your local DCS
Newborn nursery of your local hospital
Orphanages or International Foster Homes like Starfish in China

I'm looking forward to sewing some special, tiny items and sharing them with you.
Hope you'll do the same!
