Numbers, Gratitude & the Big Picture

It's the first day of the month, and I will be announcing our project for May a bit later today, but first a pause for reflection.

You all have touched my heart in a way I don't feel I can adequately express. Your enthusiasm, generosity, support and participation from every angle this month has been overwhelming! I am so proud of Hopeful Threads and each of you that make up this community!
And I am so blessed to be a part of it!

Numbers generally aren't something I like to focus on.
I feel like it is far too easy to get caught up in the numbers and miss what's really important. That said, I still can not believe how many incredibly beautiful and lovingly well made dresses this dedicated group of seamstresses churned out for our April project!
Seriously??? We TRIPLED the original goal! As a group we are sending more than 300 dresses to Dress A Girl for little girls all over the world!!!
If you haven't seen the group album yet, I encourage you to take a look and be blown away!
When I think about how every single dress sewn for this project means one more little girl with a dress all her own....well, that's when numbers matter! And that's when I am reminded how deeply Every Stitch Matters!!!

Thank you for coming along side me, picking up your fabric, scissors and thread and saying "Let's Do This!". I have been so inspired by your work and encouraged by your posts and emails and it fuels me to want to sew even more! Thank you!

Thank you Dress A Girl for providing the opportunity and vision for every little girl to own at least one dress! I believe in what you are doing and am proud and grateful to get to be a part. You have not seen your last dress from me I can guarantee! :)

Remember, Dress A Girl will gladly accept your donations ongoing, so keep sewing and fan the flame!

  1. Thank you Kristy, for making all of this a possibility and a reality. Without you, this wouldn't have happened. I for one, will continue to donate as well.

  2. Thanks so much to you Kristy, for inspiring and motivating so many people to give to this cause. Not only that, you made it fun and I know that each participant felt appreciated every time they added a dress to the pool.
Congratulations on running such a successful project.
