Today I want to share a little of the personal background of Hopeful Threads. How it got started and how it is primarily funded.
In 2008, I started a small business. I had been sewing for charity, family and friends and wanted to increase the amount of donations I was able to provide. I needed a way to cover the expenses ongoing. And so, ZooNique Baby was born with the sole purpose of supporting our family's efforts to give back.
I have purposefully kept my business and Hopeful Threads separate for the most part, as I never intend for Hopeful Threads to promote my business.....we all know Hopeful Threads has a much bigger purpose than that! :) Truth is though, ZooNique Baby has and continues to be the primary financial support of Hopeful Threads. It's how I am financially able to do all I am here each month. My business predominantly has a local focus and I sell my handmade items in a local gift shop. I sew a variety of baby and children's items....many times that helps with our projects as well since the items I sell are sometimes similar to what I donate, so I am already comfortable making them and often will even have extra on hand, which allows for an easy overlap.
My husband challenged me with a question the other evening...."If any other individual or business did what ZooNique Baby does for Hopeful Threads would you think twice about listing them as a sponsor?" and I could immediately respond, "No!". So, I have decided to add my lil' business's logo to the sponsor list on my sidebar, and just wanted to provide a brief introduction so you would know who that little hippo was. :)
If you'd like to follow along, I warmly invite you to do so. It's not nearly as active an environment as around here, but will provide a glimpse of what I do in my spare time. ;)
Thank you for allowing me to share with you.
I follow the Zoonique on FB, I love seeing everything that you are making - you are always such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful, you should list ZooNique Baby as a sponsor.
