Hi! I'm Kristy, the face behind Hopeful Threads.
This is me in 2007 with my first significant sewn donation. These diapers traveled with my dearest friend to China when she went to bring her precious son home. They were a donation to an orphanage there, along with blankets, small cloth toys and general baby care accessories.
Unknowing at the time, this was the beginning of what would become Hopeful Threads.
Gathering, preparing, sewing and packing these items was such a blessing to me and my family that we knew there had to be a way it must continue. It was truly an answer to prayer, a tangible way to give back to those that were permanently etched on our hearts. So I started a small sewing business to create funding for such projects and it has faithfully done just that.
All along I hoped to develop a community of sewers that could gather and not only work together, but encourage and be inspired as we did. There have been several local sewing events that have provided this to an extent, but in looking for a way to stay better connected and expand the camaraderie this blog began in January 2011.
It has been most exciting to watch the growth of Hopeful Threads and the outreach and impact of giving back. The sewing/crafting community is an amazing and beautiful group of talented and giving people that we are both honored and humbled to be a part of!
I love to hear from you, so please feel free to email me anytime!

Looking forward to what's ahead!
I am in no way a professional pattern designer, I don't make and sell patterns, but since I enjoy writing and sharing tutorials here on my blog, I've shared one of my more detailed and complex tutorials through Create H.O.P.E. Designs to support worldwide orphan care, the A+ Art Portfolio. I would love for you to check out the amazing outreach of Create H.O.P.E. Designs and show your support!
These FAB folks shared about me!
