Pattern Review - Hugh Manatee by Lindsay Sews

Couldn't wait to share this fluffy fella with you!
This is Hugh Manatee, the recently released pattern from Lindsay Sews. Lindsay generously sent him over for me to use for the FLUFF Drive and I'm so glad I got to make a couple! They were a lot of fun and turned out so cute!

Mine were made from a blue-gray anti-pill fleece. I used pre-cut wool felt circles for his eyes, but you could also embroider them, use safety eyes or of course, cut your own from fabric. The sides of his mouth are stitched down to give him that pouty face of a Manatee. This is a large plushie and measures near 24" finished.

These guys got a good test squeeze from my Lil' Guy before making their way to our FLUFF Drive pile. They totally passed the test too, just so you know. ;)

Follow Lindsay on her blogs, Lindsay Sews and Craft Buds for lots of creative inspiration.

Hooty Hoot! Super cute FLUFF for the FLUFF Drive!

 "Aren't We Cute???"

I had so much fun making these sweet owls! With each step, they seemed to get cuter and cuter! I started with the FREE pattern/tutorial found at Two More Minutes HERE. I used a variety of flannel prints, felt for their eyes and beaks and an assortment of coordinating ribbons.

While I'm not sure owls travel in flocks, mine apparently do! I got a little carried away when I started cutting and well....
I ended up with 16 total. 9 of which have been added to the pile for our 2nd Quarter Project/FLUFF Drive and the other 7 I'm using for gifts and the local gift shop where I sell some of my handmade items to help fund projects here.

These were very fun to make, and with the free pattern, what have you got to loose?
Give 'em a try, I bet you love making them as much as I did!

There's still time to be a part of our FLUFF Drive to provide stuffed friends for children in foster care. If you'd like to join in, we'd love to have you and you can find all the information to do so HERE!

JUNE - 2nd Quarter Project FINAL MONTH!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!?!
June.
Already.

And while I know many are in full summer swing with schools beginning to let out, with the 1st "official" day of summer still a few weeks off, we are remaining focused on our Spring FLUFF Drive!
June is the final month for our 2nd Quarter Project, where we are once again gathering stuffed friends for children in foster care. Looking forward to our biggest delivery to date and could certainly use your help!!!

While many creative and generous folks have already helped us make strides towards our goal, we still have a ways to go. We are currently just under 200 stuffed friends posted in our Project Album, so that means we have just over 300 to reach our goal by the end of the month.
I know we can do it!!! Last year we made over that in one month alone!

So, jump in with us!
Any NEW handmade or store bought stuffed friend is welcome!
Thanks for caring and for making a difference with your support and contributions.
It Matters.
