Having things organized in my sewing space is super important to me. I like to be able to find what I need when I need it. That's one of the reasons I'm LOVING this new "Sewing Essential" that I've recently put to use in my room!
Thanks to the clever suggestion of my mother-in-law, I'm using a jewelry organizer to neatly store my packaged buttons and appliques in a way that I can more easily see what I have available. LOVE IT!!!
Went from this box hidden in a drawer....
To this, hanging on my fabric rack where I can easily see and access everything...
I think I need another! lol! :)
Some of my favorite "sewing essentials" weren't specifically designed for sewing at all, but just like this, work perfectly!
To see other items I consider essential in my sewing room, check out the "Sewing Essentials" tab at the top of the blog.

Great idea!!!
How creative! I have my buttons in a tin...and some in a plastic container with dividers...those are sorted by color. =)
Fantastic suggestion! I have also seen hanging shoe organizers for bigger things like patterns. Love how bright and cheerful it is too!
I have a larger version of this (a shoe holder) on the back of my door. If I had room for a jewellery organiser as well, I'd hang that up too. A great idea, Kristy!
A perfect solution!!
Thanks for this idea! I love the clear pockets - I see people use the shoe organizers all the time, but you can't see what's in it!
