Zoo Playdate Dress

Well, ok, maybe mommy just needed the perfect excuse to make another sweet dress for my Little Bit! :) Since she absolutely loves elephants right now and since we were going to the zoo with our friends and since I had found this ADORABLE fabric that I just couldn't resist....

This sweet print is part of the Playdate collection by Dear Stella. I first saw it in this beautiful quilt by Kimberly Jolly from the Fat Quarter Shop.

I looked through all my sweet girly patterns to find the one that was just right for this fabric.....and found what I think was just perfect! :) This is the Polkadots & Summer pattern from Fig Tree & Co.

This was a spur of the moment sewing project with tots at my feet, so I can't offer a fair review of the pattern this time, but will definitely make this gorgeous dress again with better focus so I can.

I love the way it turned out!

 The pleating is one of my favorite parts, I just love the finish it offers.

She got lots of compliments at the zoo too. ;)

I have so much fun sewing for my kiddos! It's easy to get carried away. :)
