Reader's (That's YOU!!!) Choice!

source
Do you have a group or organization that is special to you that you'd like Hopeful Threads to consider for one of our Monthly Projects for 2013??? I'd love to hear from you!
I'm beginning to outline the calendar and have some great ideas for the upcoming year, and would love to include some of your interests too.

A few things to keep in mind....
* We need to be able to meet the need by sewing.

* It's likely obvious, but I'm particularly soft when it comes to providing for the need of a child. Not that I'm not open to other opportunities, just sayin'. :)

* I prefer the opportunity to support a "grass-roots" or lesser known group/organization. There are some really great "Big Dogs" out there that are doing some incredible things....but most of them have a pretty good following and consistent support. I'd like to help where it might otherwise get overlooked.

* If it's an organization that you have a personal connection to, LOVE IT!!! Either they have done something to support you during a special time and you'd like to repay them with an outpouring  or you already sew for or support them on your own in some way....this is the kind of thing I'm looking for. No random google searches needed....I have one of those search bars too. ;)

p.s. If you have been an active participate in other Hopeful Threads projects, you're likely to have some automatic brownie points. :)

Ok...so email me or comment with your ideas and information about the group/organization. Can't wait to hear from you!!!

I am really looking forward to whatever you have in store for us in 2013. I can't wait to be involved and to continue to stretch the skills I have gained working on the projects this year.

I know that you have already done something for children born with cleft lips/palates, but I didn't know how to sew then. I was born with a cleft lip and would love to contribute to a project like this now that I know how to sew! :)

I know I already posted, but is there any way to help the families in Connecticut? My hometown is only about an hour away from them. I would really love to help, but I don't really know how.

Bags of Love. There are chapters all over the place. I know of at least two churches in my faith near me that participate plus at least one other local lady who does it. So it's likely that people could find a chapter near them. (In fact this is an article about members of my old church giving and this is who I have made bags and quilts for before: http://www.itsmyveryown.org/QCMS/index.asp?page=Bags%20of%20Love%20Robertson%20County)

They mostly sew drawstring bags and small quilts though sewed stuffed animals would be good also and maybe clothes, not sure. They put those together with needed items like toothbrush, tooth paste, hair brush, etc and some helpful stuff like coloring books and crayons or puzzle books, notebooks, etc. Then they give them to kids who have to suddenly be removed from their homes due to violence or drug issues, etc.
